The TriStar Initiative is a program of Christar. It is designed to engage Christian professionals in international projects that strategically support missionary efforts.

Traditional missionary efforts have relied almost solely on missionaries to carry out their purposes. These dedicated workers have brought tremendous benefit around the world. Missionary medical, educational and religious institutions have laid the foundation for many societies to thrive in the modern world.

Today, turmoil within and among world cultures is on the rise. The approach of missionaries toward community problems is sound—dealing holistically with people’s human and spiritual needs. Yet, the effect on societies is limited primarily by the lack of manpower and resources.

The TriStar Initiative seeks to address this challenge. The program enlists Christian professionals who have a concern for the world. It will provide them with training and orientation for applying their expertise cross-culturally. Then, it will engage them in flexible short-term and long-term projects that supplement the work of missionaries from Christar and other agencies. The ultimate goal is to bring value to troubled communities through a tangible expression of the love of Jesus Christ.
